Not long ago, Chopard released the new Alpine Eagle series. This series was conceived and designed by Carl Frederick Schaefer, the current co-president of Chopard, to present us with a watch full of power. In this new series, we see not only the level of Chopard’s watchmaking and movement but also the vitality brought by the spirit of innovation. (Watch model: 298600-3001).
In 1980, Karl-Frederick Schaefer proposed to his father to create a watch called St. Moritz, which was Chopard’s first sports watch, and became one of the most extraordinary watches in ten years. Nowadays, Alpine Eagle watches are transforming and upgrading St. Moritz watches, incorporating innovative elements into the Alps eagle and its habitat, etc., on the one hand, it conveys the importance of environmental issues to us, and on the other hand, it demonstrates the unparalleled excellence of Chopard watchmaking.
In the Alpine Eagle watch, Chopard uses Lucent Steel A223 steel. The development of this new alloy material took four years, the process is very complicated, and it has very outstanding characteristics: low allergenicity, robustness, and special Gloss. Both the case and the bezel have been carefully satin-finished, showing a luster and brightness comparable to gold, and the sides have been chamfered for added refinement.
The round bezel is adorned with 8 screws in pairs of two, which is one of its distinctive designs. If you look closely, you can find that the notch of the screw is in the same direction as the arc of the bezel.
The crown is engraved with a compass rose that derived from ancient instruments that helped explorers find their way.
The blue dial is polished with a rock-like texture, derived from the iris of the eagle, and the special blue is reminiscent of the glacier on the Alps. The design of the pointer is very similar to the feather of a raptor. A date display window is available between 4 and 5 o’clock, adding another useful feature.
The one-piece bracelet consists of a single brick-shaped chain link with a raised top cover in the center, which gradually narrows from the case.
The watch is equipped with the 01.01-C movement that is developed by Chopard Watchmaking Workshop. This movement has been certified by the Swiss Official Observatory (COSC) and has a 60-hour power reserve and stop-second function.
The transparent case back presents the appearance of the movement to let us feel the exceptional beauty of the machine.
